MISSION STATEMENT

Visionary Home of Peace is a group with the Core mandate of advocating proper care for the aged, in all forms through awareness creation, youth engagement and community Participation.

 

OUR OPERATIONAL PHILOSOPHY

The current economic environment coupled with growing social challenges including balancing professional and nuclear family responsibilities have let to major neglect for the aged in the Ghanaian society and the world over.

Relying on statistics from the last population census, about 63 percent of the aged who did not engage in any formal word depend on reminances and  philanthropic support from children and other sources, while 36.7 percent depend on pension and other investments.

Also about 64 percent of the aged have either divorced or widowed and therefore suffer loneliness. These statistics together with others prove the obvious dependence of the aged on the society.

With the above background, " THE VISIONARY HOME OF PEACE FOR THE AGED" have accepted the responsibilty as an advocacy group to organize seminars and to create a platform to sensitize the general public, especially the youth, on the need to care for the elderly in their homes, communities as well as the society at large. Through this and other campaigns, we seek to bring hope and relief to those elderly ones who are not receiving proper care.
